Terra Tenebrosa - The Tunnels

Recommended

It's the first album of this experimental black metal/ambient band from Sweden. It's an impressive debut with a lot to offer. These guys surely know how to create a weird atmosphere. It's noisy, dark and frightful. It gives you a strange feeling of isolation and restlessness. The repetitive percussion and the distorted vocals are blended perfectly into the ambiental parts making it more eerie. This music haunts you with every track maintaining the darkness until the bitter end when you find yourself desorientated and deranged. I listened this album a couple of times now and every time it remembers me of  2 horror movies I've seen, "The Descent" and ironically "The Tunnel". This could be the soundtrack to anyone of these, because it fits the ambiance like a glow. The last time I had these kind of heebie-jeebies listening to a metal album was when I discovered the british band The Axis of Perdition. To conclude, this album is nightmarishly wonderful. If you care for a creepy trip, up in and enjoy the ride. You'll not be disappointed. That's a promise.
