NACHTBLUT - "Ich trinke Blut"

   NACHTBLUT - "Ich trinke Blut"
   Album: Dogma
   Release Date: May 25th, 2012
   Genre: Melodic Dark/Black Metal
   Country: Germany (Osnabrück, Lower Saxony)

"A Masterful Grim Dark Metal Delicacy. NACHTBLUT prepare to conquer the dark scene with their second album. "Dogma" will make it easy for them, as they have managed to improve upon their already grandiose debut by raising the bar and showcasing a newfound maturity in their songwriting. With instinctive ease the German quintet combines melodic and heavy elements to create their characteristic dark sound. The band revolving around vocalist Askertoh creates a wide spectrum of morbid metal tracks ("Mordlust", "Ich trinke Blut") and sensual ballads ("Schritte"). As a result, "Dogma" becomes a grim dark metal delicacy that quickly unveils a row of potential club hits. Besides paying close attention to the compositions, NACHTBLUT has also made the production of this album top priority by giving the melody lines enough room to breathe, while simultaneously allowing the heaviness of their riffs and double bass attacks to find their niche. The new album is made complete by Stefan Heilemann, whose graphic interpretation successfully transposed NACHTBLUT's provocative and sociocritical vision. "Dogma" is a masterful dark metal release that will not only convince existing fans, but also inspire new one to join the ranks." (Napalm Records)

Nachtblut Biography (Via Napalm Records):

"The beginnings of the band date back to 2005, when Askeroth started Nachtblut as a solo project. He soon found like-minded musicians who shared his visions and ideas. Thus, Nachtblut evolved into a real band. The line-up comprised Greif, Sacerdos, Skoll, and Lymania.

The band played their first concert in early 2007, which helped them achieve a great following outside their native Onasbrück. They continued to perform live and soon released their debut "Das erste Abendmahl" in June 2007. This collection of songs turned mere fans into disciples of the band. All over Germany, the dark scene could no longer turn a blind eye to the grim sounds of Nachtblut.
In the winter of 2007, the band opened up for the likes of Eisregen, Immortal, Sodom, Watain, Varg, and Endstille, to name but a few, helping Nachtblut become a major player in the underground scene. From its very beginnings, they were either met with love or hate. This polarization is due to Nachtblut's attitude. While other bands will say something to provoke, Nachtblut provokes in order to make a point and draw the listener's attention to a particular topic.

The concept album "Antik" was released in January 2009. The band was in charge of the recording and production at Trollheim Studio with the help of Ingo Hampf. With this release, the band was able to continue its path toward success, as more and more worshippers became part of the Nachtblut legion.
In 2011, Nachtblut signed a worldwide recording deal with the Austrian label Napalm Records."

Biography:

"Ghoul Patrol is a death 'n' roll band which was formed in 2005 by guitarist Jani Rapo and vocalist Henri Harberg. Wanting to bring something new to the Finnish metal scene the band started to compose songs and rehearse actively in 2006 when drummer Petri Mäkipää joined them.

Beginning of 2008 brought quite a few changes to the course of Ghoul Patrol. Ghoul Patrol was joined by Jukka Pihlajaniemi who immediately started to write lyrics for their first release. In the spring the band started to record 'Death Fuckin' Roll!' in the legendary Finnvox studios. At this point Ghoul Patrol still lacked a bass player, but found him in the form of David Forder.

After the recordings of 'Death Fuckin' Roll!' next to join the band was Albert Orma who was an eager fan of the material.

Line-up started to take it's shape and 'Death Fuckin' Roll!' was reaping the harvest. The band's MySpace page gathered listeners and praises from all around the world. The EP also got great reviews in Finnish metal media – demo band of the month in Noise.fi and Imperiumi.net.

In the end of 2008 the band started to record their second EP called 'Hellfire Blues' which was released in March 2009. 'Hellfire Blues' also gathered a great response in the Finnish media and also abroad.

After 'Hellfire Blues' was released, the band immediately started to record their third release 'The 3rd Death Manifest'. The band continued to gather praises in the media. In the 2010 Finnish Metal Awards Ghoul Patrol won the "Best Underground Act of 2009" award.

In the summer of 2010, the band ended up in a situation, where they parted ways with singer Jukka Pihlajaniemi. A fill-in singer was required quickly so the band asked singer Pekka Okuloff to do some session shows with them. After a while both parties decided that Okuloff would join the band as a full-time member.

The Dimebag Beyond Forever-tour was held for the last time in the end of 2010. Ghoul Patrol got the honour to work as the opening act on that tour. This was also the first time Ghoul Patrol got a chance to properly tour Finland.

After the success of the Dimebag Beyond Forever-tour, Ghoul Patrol started negotiations with Spinefarm Records. During spring of 2011 the deal was signed and the recordings of the debut album begun with Matias Kupiainen as producer and sound engineer. The full lenght debut album was released on October 26th of 2011 through Spinefarm Records followed by a Finnish tour. Ghoul Patrol is playing actively in Finland but they're also aiming to play abroad soon. " (Official Site)

"Unleash The Archers is a five piece metal band currently hailing out of Vancouver BC. Formed in late 2007, the band is heavily influenced by all metal genres, and incorporates elements of power metal, melodic death metal, thrash and metalcore into their music. They have worked dilligently over the last three years to create a niche for themselves in the west coast metal scene, as well as build afan base in the prairies and eastern Canada. Being fronted by a female singer adds to their distinctive sound, and their energy on and off stage captivates listeners of all musical tastes. Their professionalism has been honed by several western Canadian tours as well as three cross Canada tours, and they've gained great experience through sharing the stage with big names like Kataklysm, Dismember, Toxic Holocaust, 3 Inches of Blood, Augury and Stratovarius.

In August 2009 Unleash The Archers released their first full studio album titled 'Behold The Devastation', recorded by Jason Martin of OmegaMediaCore Studios in Richmond BC. The album features artwork by JP Fournier (Blind Guardian, Immortal, Dragonforce, Edguy, etc;) and is comprised of eight gripping tracks, all written over their first two years as a band.

In May 2011 their sophomore album titled 'Demons Of The AstroWaste' was released, and a cross Canada tour followed. This would be their longest tour yet, with 40+ dates ranging from Victoria BC to Halifax NS. The album is a concept piece detailing the exploits of a mercenary as he is taken over by an all-powerful sword. Guitars and bass were recorded at Harbourside studios by Nick Engwer, drums were recorded at Vogville Studios by Nick Engwer, and vocals were recorded at The Hive Soundlab with Stu McKillop of Rain City Recorders. Once again artwork was completed by JP Fournier." (Facebook)

THE INTERBEING - Shadow Drift

   THE INTERBEING - Shadow Drift
   Album: Edge Of The Obscure
   Release Date: 2 May 2011
Genre: Modern Industrial Metal / Futuristic Metal
   Country: Denmark (Copenhagen)

Band statement:
"Our brand new video for Shadow Drift is finally complete! The video is directed by the debut music video director Alexander Hørup who has spent years working closely with the Danish music video director Casper Balslev on videos for The Floor is Made of Lava, Dune, Vinnie Who, Marina & The Diamonds amongst others. The team behind the video also includes one of the best music video editors Jens Høll who has edited videos for L.O.C, Kashmir, Dune, The Storm and Carpark North to name a few.

"We chose the song Shadow Drift because it shows a slightly different side to the rest of the album. The lyrics are based on a surreal world, where the one's shadow is a separate individual who the main character tries to merge with. In the video the black liquid symbolizes the persons' shadows, and during the video the liquid covers each character more and more. The little boy with the rabbit mask is partly inspired by the psychological thriller Donnie Darko from 2001 and he represents the character's 'alternative self.'

"We all think the whole process has been awesome and fascinating. From the very beginning we were on the same level with Alexander. It was a very ambitious project which succeeded to a full extent, and we are extremely happy with the result."

Edge Of The Obscure - Tracklist
1. Elusive Atmosphere

T.R.A.M. - "Inverted Ballad"

   T.R.A.M. - "Inverted Ballad"
   Album: Lingua Franca
   Release Date: 2012
   Genre: Progressive
   Country: U.S.A. ( Los Angeles)

<"It's extremely rare to come across a new band that just flips the script of conventionality throwing caution to the wind, but the debut effort from T.R.A.M. does just that while blazing a trail of creativity that will quickly turn heads across the world. This unit will be referred to by many as a “supergroup,” however the members of this dynamic unit aren't in this for any reason but to use it as a platform to further express their art without limitations or any preconceived notions.
T.R.A.M. is comprised of such renowned musically proficient artists as Adrian Terrazas (The Mars Volta) on saxophone, flute, bass clarinet and percussion, Javier Reyes (Animals As Leaders) on guitars, Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders) on guitars and Eric Moore (Suicidal Tendencies) on drums. This is a group of likeminded individuals that are naturally gifted and the collaboration of their unique talents results in something truly amazing. Their much anticipated debut album, Lingua Franca, is set for a Summer release through Sumerian Records.

Terrazas states: “Tosin Abasi and I were originally introduced by a mutual friend, Raanen Bozzio, last summer. This meeting also served as my first introduction to Animals As Leaders and Javier Reyes. Since then, Abasi, Reyes and I have developed a great relationship. We got together almost every day to try out ideas and after a month we had already formulated a majority of the record. At this point we contacted Eric Moore, an incredible drummer and the most joyful person to be around, and soon everything we had envisioned rhythmically came together on our fist meeting/recording session (at the Farias productions studios) on what is now T.R.A.M.
“I never know how people will respond to our music, I just never know! My goal is to try to instill a strong feeling or energy in people and I feel that collectively we achieved this goal tenfold with this new project. We all have a great enthusiasm and desire to perform this material live and see this band further develop. We look forward to hearing what you all think of it.”" > (T.R.A.M. Facebook Page)

Lingua Franca - Tracklist:
1. Seven Ways Till Sunday
2. Consider Yourself Judged
3. Endeavor
4. HAAS Kicker
5. Hollywood Swinging

MOONSPELL - "White Skies"

   MOONSPELL - "White Skies"
   Album: Omega White
   Release Date: April 27th, 2012
   Genre: Gothic / Extreme Metal
   Country: Portugal (Brandoa, Lisbon)

„White Skies“ is taken off the bonus album „Omega White“ from the band’s current release „Alpha Noir“.

Omega White - Tracklist:
1. Whiteomega
2. White Skies
3. Fireseason
4. New Tears Eve
5. Herodisiac
6. Incantatrix
7. Sacrificial
8. A Greater Darkness

"Moonspell returns to the scene with what might be the most important album ever to be released by this legendary Portuguese metal band. With a renewed focus, they have risen to a new level so as to reclaim their throne as the leading European dark metal band. "Alpha Noir" is a nine-track outburst that shows us a much more incendiary band than in the past. With an avalanche of memorable guitar work, deeply rooted in the thrash metal of legends, Moonspell perfectly combines it with their own brand of Southern black metal, which they have been crafting since their groundbreaking debut offering: "Wolfheart".
The special edition will also include a second CD, "Alpha Noir's" remarkable counterpart "Omega White". It follows a more atmospheric path, delivering epic and catchy songs in the vein of gothic rock icons, such as Sisters of Mercy and Type o Negative. Torn between two worlds, the Alpha - with tracks like the savage "Lickanthrope" (to be featured in the band's first video clip), the majestic title track, or the epic closing "Grandstand" - and the Omega - with "White Skies", the sensual "Herodisiac", or the heartbreaking "Whiteomega"- make this release a bulletproof double album to present to the band's hordes of avid moon gazers.
Produced by Tue Madsen and arranged by Benny Richter, "Alpha Noir" will take the world by storm. It is a genuine release by a legendary act, who never hid in the bushes waiting for their musical style to regain popularity, but rather kept their heads proudly above the water, while always working to achieve greatness. "Alpha Noir": we want a new world! And nobody can afford to be left behind in the coming of this new lunar age." (Nuclear Blast)

Oddleif Stensland (Guitars, Vocals): "Writing and recording this album has been an amazing — but strange experience. This time we took control over the production ourselves, resulting in a more honest- and organic-sounding album. Never before have I put so much of my own personal influence and privacy into the lyrics and songs as this time." “I think the heaviness of these songs will surprise many of you, and the overall feeling of it, is way darker this time. The songs are shorter, more in your face and may seem straight forward at first, but there are many twists and turns that will just creep under your skin. This album is DEEP!”

   SONATA ARCTICA - "I Have A Right"
   Album: Stones Grow Her Name
   Release Date: 18 may 2012
   Genre: Power Metal
   Country: Finland (Kemi)
   Lyrics

TONY KAKKO writes: <<"I Have A Right" was the very last song I wrote for this album. At that point Tommy had already played his last track for "Stones Grow Her Name," gotten ready to go to sauna AND opened his first beer for that night, when I sms'd him to check his e-mail and record yet one more "easy track". He was mildly pissed. And perhaps fueled by that he nailed the song on the first take. It was a very emotional moment for him, I was told. The song hits home, if you know the subject and can relate to the subject.

To put it short it's a song about how we should not pass the burden we get from the past generation on the shoulders of our future offspring. Children's rights subject. Not the most metal subject ever, I suppose, but
then again I think it fits our band well and is pretty universal. Funny to actually have fans from each age group this songs speaks about. Let's see what comes of it.

Choosing the first single and video from this album was not very easy this time around as we had so many candidates. The best possible problem to have! "I Have A Right" won the vote.

The playing parts for this video were shot in our home town Kemi, here in Finland. The location was an old, abandoned school building. Somehow spooky and COLD. It was mid march. Could say we were lucky the weather was unseasonably warm, yet way below zero.

Director Tuukka Temonen and his crew did a great job with editing and all the additional footage. All in all, from my point of view, this was the easiest ever Sonata Arctica video to make. No 12 hours standing in a room filled with bird shit, no freezing my ass off on the ice in the middle of the sea from 8am to 10pm, or running in the woods in the middle of the night and not sleeping for 48 hours...had all that with the past videos. I am more than pleased. I hope you like the song and video as much as we do.

See you on tour, folks!>>

"Torn Apart" comes off the band's fourth full-length album, "Black Waltz", which was released on January 25 via eOne Music. The CD was produced by Tobias Lindell and includes songs from a limited-edition EP that was released in Sweden at the end of October 2011.
The "Black Waltz" videoclip (song taken from the EP "Black Waltz", released earlier, in 2011), which was directed by Johan Carlén and shot in Sweden's largest amusement park, features an appearance by the world-famous American circus sideshow Hellzapoppin.
